history matters

History matters. How could I know who I was if I didn't have a clue as to where I'd personally and collectively come from?
Bruce Springsteen

History matters because the stories of the past connect us to one another

and strengthen our communities.

History matters because it helps us understand who we are so we can make informed decisions today.

Monmouth County’s history matters. It is rich with stories, from the Leni Lenape fishing bountiful shores, to Patriot soldiers forging a new nation, African American migrants harvesting rich farmland, and visionaries paving the way to today’s interconnected world.

Your donation to the Annual Appeal allows MCHA to preserve and share Monmouth County's history now and for future generations through educational programs, preservation of historic artifacts, exhibitions, and research.

Thank you for believing that history matters!
