Church Records
Church records and publications about churches that contain information that may aid in genealogical research are listed below by denomination and within denomination alphabetically by church name. An appendix at end of this list groups churches by town. Not listed are publications and collections about churches that are primarily historical, with no genealogical information. Consult the Librarian regarding these sources of church histories.
Please understand that when transcripts or microfilm copies exist, they must be used instead of the original items in order to preserve the originals. Many of the microfilmed records are also available through the library of the Church of the Latter Day Saints in Salt Lake City, Utah.

In 1842 the First Reformed Church of Freehold split into two congregations serving the village of Freehold and the rural Freehold Township (part of which became Marlboro Township in 1948).]
