Permission to publish images of any items in the Monmouth County Historical Association’s collection must be obtained in writing from MCHA. When placing a request, please state fully the intended use of the material requested. Permission is for one-time non-exclusive use, published in print (i.e., book, periodical) and/or electronic format (i.e., DVD, internet, broadcast), in one language, distribution worldwide.
Fees for multiple uses (i.e., revised edition, second language) will be determined at the time of request. Any fees for uses not listed below will be determined after requests are received in written form.
In all cases, MCHA retains copyright to any and all images from its collection, regardless of the format. Permission must be requested and obtained, and a fee paid each time the image is used. A credit line must accompany each appearance of an image. The required text will be sent with the completed permission form. Images may not be altered, cropped, or otherwise edited including the overprinting of text, without written permission of MCHA.
Payment in advance is required. Payment must be made to MCHA by check or money order in U.S. funds, drawn on a U.S. bank. There will be a $25 charge for checks returned for insufficient funds (NSF). Send payment to the attention of the Assistant Librarian.
MCHA requires 2 copies of the publication (magazine, book, DVD, etc.) in which the image appears, or notification of URL location, or date and time of broadcast.
The Monmouth County Historical Association reserves the right to refuse any request and to impose such conditions as it may deem advisable in the best interest of MCHA.
